About Christabell McDonald

Christabell's experiences in various countries and in different design fields have inspired her to become a passionate, detailed-oriented, hard-working woman who lives and breathes design.

How would you describe your design style?

My style really varies depending on the client. I have worked across so many industries and feel the best designers should be able to adapt to any style/client. It’s more important to tell a brand story.

What is your career background?

Where do I even begin?! I think I have a great knack for putting elements together, to make them look good. I have a Bachelor of Interior Design, years of experience in fashion styling, a hobby of food styling and photography, and a Masters of Visual Brand Design from Milan.

Who are some of your favourite clients you’ve worked with?

Camilla has been one of the most fun and creative clients I have ever worked with. The office culture, mixed with its amazing branding just topped off the whole experience. I’ve also loved working with major luxury brands such as Moschino, Net-A-Porter, LinkedIn, as well as local brands like Australia Geographic.  

Favourite movie of all time?

Favourite movie is The Devil Wears Prada; I just love Meryl Streep. On the other hand, I love Sherlock Homes…gotta love solving those crimes. 

What is your favourite quote, and why?

“Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Design is knowing which ones to keep.” Sometimes the best designs come from accidental mistakes. On the other hand, one of the hardest decisions a designer can make is how to choose from what they have produced.

Why do you love design?

Everything around you has been designed, from street signs, to book covers, and that glass in front of you. It is endless. I’m inspired constantly, and look forward to walking down the street and seeing my design. That’s when you know you’ve nailed it!
